If there’s something we English and associated island tribes can do well, it’s gentle eccentricity. I saw the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain at a festival a couple of years ago, and they are just fabulous, combining great musicianship, excellent vocals and a quintessentially bonkers sense of humour. So enjoy their take on a Nirvana classic (and if you don’t enjoy their version, don’t blame me: complain to your parents/teachers/government/psychotherapist/doctor/priest/cabbie/hairdresser etc). And a bonus for guitar nuts: covet what looks like a mini-Dobro (that’s the shiny metal job for the uninitiated)
